Grading Policy


Grade

What Does it mean?

General Description

A = 4

Mastery

Student is able to independently and consistently demonstrate application of knowledge and skill related to the learning goal. 

B = 3 

Proficient 

Student independently demonstrates proficiency in the content/skill defined by the learning goal. 

C = 2 

Approaching 

With teacher or peer guidance and feedback, the student is able to show proficiency in the learning goal.

D = 1

Beginning/Limited 

With teacher guidance and feedback, the student is able to show incomplete/limited foundational knowledge or skill related to the learning goal. 

F = 0 

Not yet/no evidence 

With teacher guidance and feedback an F grade will only be entered when the student is unable to show foundational knowledge or skill related to the learning goal. 















Academic Dishonesty: Academic Dishonesty will not be tolerated under any circumstances. CHEATING, COPYING, or PLAGIARISM of any form will result in failure of the assignment,  disciplinary referral and parent contact.

   


REtakes: 

  • If you want, you may redo any assignment to make up and improve your grade. 
  • You must communicate with me (your teacher) when you want to retake your assignment.
  • There may be some assignments where I will assign a “retake” day.
  • Give yourself and myself reasonable time to do your retakes. (meaning don’t wait last minute before grades are do for any retakes)
