Be Safe
- Be visible. You are encouraged to join with video and be clearly seen in your classes. It is important your teacher can see your face during the class. It is also important to develop a sense of community. Having our human selves visible helps remind us we are people and lessens the isolation of being on zoom for class.
- Use the name your teacher knows you by.
- Your screen name must be: Last, First (FAM 8)
Be Respectful
- Be sitting up. Preferably sit at a table or on a sofa.
- Be in a quiet space that helps you focus and concentrate. If you have background noise, please mute yourself.
- No eating. Schedule your meal times around your Zoom meeting.
- Focus on your the class. For example, don’t play with your pets, watch television, or use other electronic devices, including phones and tablets, etc.
- Be thoughtful when posting in the CHAT section.
- Your comments are automatically saved.
- If it is during instruction time, only post questions related to the lesson.
- You may be asked to share ideas about your lesson in the CHAT.
- Do not post conversations unrelated to the material, unless the teacher gives permission to do so.
Be Responsible
- Be prepared. Anything you have been asked to do in preparation needs to be ready. Come to the meeting ready to learn. Try to be on time.
- Be Responsible for turning in all work. During this time you are accountable for keeping yourself organized and submitting work on time.
- Using the restroom: Plan to use the restroom before meeting and after meetings, and only go if it is an emergency.
If you are off-task and interrupting with your audio or camera, I will give you a verbal warning. If you continue to exhibit discourteous behavior, I will remove you from the class period for that day. If that happens, doing well with the work is more challenging. If you do so more than once, I will call home. Please be respectful.
