Use this as a model for writing narrative summaries.

 

NOTICE:

1. It states the title of the narrative and the author.

2. It does not have a lot of details but clearly states the conflict and the resolution.

3. It does not have dialogue.

4. It uses correct grammar and capitalization.

5. All the sentences are complete (no run-ons and fragments).

Students will be graded based on how well they have mastered this list of learning targets that come from the Common Core State Standards published by the California Department of Education.

 

Students will be given several opportunities to demonstrate their mastery in the course of the school year.
