Hello,
Welcome to the Film and Media Magnet for 2020-2021 school year! My name is Mr. Laguna and I will be your English teacher for the upcoming school year. We have some exciting projects and great things we will learn this year. I am ecstatic to build a strong and supportive learning community with you.

If I may introduce myself, this will be my 8th year as a 6th grade teacher at Thomas Starr King Middle School and 11th year teaching. I went to UCLA for undergraduate work and received my B.A in Political Science. I also have my graduate degree (M. Ed) from UCLA focusing on urban education. In terms of hobbies, I am an avid outdoorsmen, traveler, and photographer.
