Frequently Asked Questions
A: I use JupiterGrades.com to calculate and post my grades. If you or your parent does not have a login name or access, please see me so we can explore solutions.
Q: Why do you use different colors to grade? What do the colors mean?
A: I allow you to submit assessments that demonstrate proof of understanding up to three times. The first time the assignment is graded, I use green. The second time, purple. Finally, I use red for the last submission. Any assignment that has been graded in red is final.
Q: Do you offer extra help or office hours?
A: Feel free to drop by during lunch, every day except Fridays. I want to go play with my friends too.
Q: What can I do to improve my grade?
A: Redo anything that’s not graded in red.
Q: Can I have extra credit?
A: No.
Q: Why don’t you offer extra credit?
A: I don’t offer extra credit because I offer conditional resubmissions.
Q: Will you accept my assignment late?
A: I will accept late projects and large take-home assignments; however, you have forfeited your right to any resubmissions. I will not accept late homework.
Q: What if I’m absent?
A: It's your responsibility to make up all work in a timely manner. You have the same number of days you were absent to make up work. If your work hasn't been turned in after the number of days you've been absent, your work is officially late, and late work rules will apply. For example, if you were sick for 2 days, you have two days to make it up. On the third day, it's considered late, and you will lose your resubmission privileges or your work may not be accepted. You should also have the contact information of at least two people who share your class.
Q: I lost my handout. Can I have another?
A: In the room, there is a folder that has all extra handouts. DO NOT TAKE THE LAST ONE. Also, all handouts are posted on Jupiter as a pdf. So you can get one from the comforts of home.
Q: What if I have to contact you, but it’s after school or you’re not on campus?
A: My email address is [email protected]. I’m very good at answering my email. If you email me after 8:00 pm, I will respond at 8:00 am. The QR code on your Course Guide will direct you to a blank email to me.
Q: How do you recommend I study every day?
A: Before you do your homework, review your notes. If you have any questions, you should probably look through your text for potential answers. Have your notes open while you do your homework in case you need the reference. When you are done, check your answers for correctness. If possible, preview the materials for the upcoming day.
