STATE OF CALIFORNIA GRANT PROGRAM - REQUEST FOR APPLICATION (RFA)

Service Clubs provide middle school students the opportunity to learn about the life and values of  Cesar E. Chavez, to examine the needs of their local community, to choose needs to address, and to plan and implement service projects to address those needs.

Successful Proposals will receive:
  • Grant funds up to $31,450 per Service Club for four Service Clubs (up to eight in very large districts) at middle schools within districts or counties
  • Assignment and support of trained AmeriCorps VISTA member(s)
  • Professional development and training for club staff and AmeriCorps VISTA members.
  • Coordination of the Service Club sites into an affiliated statewide network
  • Troubleshooting and technical assistance
The RFA process will be managed by Youth Service California with the accepted proposals administered by California Volunteers – Office of the Governor.
