PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE July 2005

Dear King Parents,
My message is to welcome everyone to the 2005-2006 School Year at Thomas Starr King Middle School. I would like to extend a special welcome to our incoming 6th and 7th grade students. You are now KING LIONS!
I have truly enjoyed my first year as principal of King Middle School. We have worked very hard to build a sense of family with everything we have accomplished this past year. The expectations are for everyone, students, teachers, parents, support staff, administration, and our community to work together to provide a quality education along with the best learning environment possible.
Some of our accomplishments have included an extensive offering of parent education classes, student intervention opportunities, student activities and clubs, community and service events, and our quarterly parent events. We have also implemented our electronic marquee communication, our E-Parent e-mail communication, and our Tele-Parent communication system.
As we move into the 2005-2006 school year, our students and staff will be organized into Vertical Teams to bring personalization, identity and vision for the benefit of all our students. Our teachers will be having 5 days of off-track professional development to develop the aspects of each vertical team. As we progress through this new development, we will ask for your support and participation in various vertical team activities and events.
It will be an exciting school year with many opportunities for all. Again, I ask for your support for our staff at King Middle School, as we do support all of your efforts at home. Please join us in raising your children to become productive citizens of society.
