T.S. King Middle School Parent Center Workshops

King's Parent Center, in collaboration with "School For Parents", provided a series of workshops for 6th grade parents. Workshops were held four consecutive Saturdays beginning April 16, 2005. Topics included adolescence, changes and challenges, communicating with our children, the role of parents in the middle school, reading and studying techniques. Parents received certificates and participated in weekly raffles. Feedback from parents indicated they would like to continue these classes.

Ms. Long, a 7th and 8th grade English teacher at King, led two more parent workshops stressing school and home communication, the academic planner and the importance of reading. All parent participants received King notebooks, reading books, book-markers and gifts. All of our staff encourages parents to participate to help our student achievement.
