GRADE EIGHT CULMINATION SET FOR SHRINE AUDITORIUM

The 2008 Thomas Starr King Middle School Grade Eight Culmination Program will be staged at the world-famous Shrine Auditorium. The ceremonies for eligible students will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2007.  The Shrine Auditorium is located at 649 West Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007.

Each eligible student participant will be provided four (4) tickets to the ceremony for family members.  Additional tickets may be purchased for $3.00 each and may be requested at the Wednesday, June 25 Rehearsal. ADMISSION TICKETS ARE REQUIRED BY ALL (INCLUDING CHILDREN) TO ATTEND THE CEREMONY.

The program will feature recognition of student achievement and success at school. Please plan to arrive early (by 9:00 am) to make certain you will be able to see the complete program and allow students to get in position. Students will be recognized on stage promptly beginning at 10:00 am. Expect there to a vehicle parking fee of at least $7.

Eligible students who plan to participate in the ceremony must attend the ceremony rehearsals and demonstrate appropriate behavior at both the rehearsals and the ceremony. Participation in the culmination program is an earned privilege. Students must be wear clothing, shoes, and fashion accessories appropriate for the daytime ceremony.

Guest and family members are asked to not disrupt the ceremony by approaching the stage to take photographs or record video. All video equipment must be hand-held for safety reasons. No electrical outlets will be available for audience use.

The two period rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday June 26. Sessions are planned to held by Tracks in the School Auditorium. See the Calendar Section for the exact periods.

Parents and Guests are to meet students outside of the Shrine Auditorium following the ceremony.
