Thomas Starr King Middle School has been authorized by the California Department of Education to operate a Title I School-wide Program. As a result, the school receives resources from the state and federal governments that enable us to upgrade the entire educational program in order to help all students meet the challenging state standards.
A comprehensive needs assessment and an analysis of the student achievement data were conducted to develop a Single Plan for Student Achievement. This was completed through the collaborative efforts of staff and parents. The school-wide program includes strategies to raise the academic achievement of all students.

If you are unable to attend the Annual Title I meeting or if there are questions or concerns regarding your child’s participation in the program, please contact the school’s Title I Office at (323) 644-6743.
According to No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation, parents have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals. Detailed information regarding the “Parent’s Right to Know” can be found in the LAUSD 2007-2008 Parent-Student Handbook.

- Instructional Materials and Supplies
- Additional support staff (Nurse, PSA Counselor, Psychologist, Student Aides.)

- Tele-parent a parent communication system to keep parents informed about school activities and their child’s academic achievement
