Our entire staff is dedicated to helping our students achieve academic success. In order to motivate our students we continue to implement:
- Certificate of Merit Awards every 4 weeks for students who earn A’s, B’s, C’s, E’s and/or S’s. Along with the certificate of Merit our students receive a "Front of the Line" Pass that allows them to enter the cafeteriawithout having to wait in the lunch line.
- Platinum Club Members, students who earn a perfect report card (AEE in all classes), are treated to Breakfast and Lunches with the Principal.
- "Caught Being Good" Cards are given to students for being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe Behavior by out of the classroom staff or for being Prompt, Prepared, Productive and Polite by their teachers. Students who receive Cards are eligible for prizes.
- Homerooms with 2 weeks (10 days) of perfect attendancereceive coupons redeemable for a “paleta”. Attendance is a key factor for academic success.
- The Parent Center continues to offer weekly workshops. Parents are invited to participate in a 15-week series on “Raising Children In Troubled Times” every Wednesday 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Our Gear-up Grant is in its second year and is now serving our 8th grade students.
- Also in its second year is our California Gear-up Grant Project Higher.
- Learning which provides our 8th grade students with tutoring opportunities.
WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER TO PROVIDE THE BEST LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME
