OCTOBER 2006 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear King Parents,

We have now completed 4 weeks of classes for our Track A students, and 12 weeks of classes for our Track C students. Parents should receive these progress report cards shortly in the mail.

If you child has a slash (/) A’s, B’s, C’s (no D’s or Fails) as a mark, they are working satisfactorily. If your child has E’s or S’s in their work habits and cooperation there is little need to be concerned because they are doing well. If however, your child has earned a Fail or D’s, and/or U’s in work habits and cooperation, please call the Guidance Office at (323) 664-1176 to make an appointment with your child’s counselor.  We appreciate and value your involvement as a parent for the benefit of your child’s education.

Along with your child’s grades, work habits, and cooperation, it is of utmost importance that your child attend school every day.  There are only 163 instructional days in your child’s regular school year, therefore, everyday counts. Students should be at their Homeroom classroom door at 7:24 a.m., ready to begin their day in school.Tardiness is not acceptable.

As a team, the school and parents, are raising our students to be productive citizens in society.  This is a joint effort. When your child culminates from middle school with the required number of credits, promotes to high school, passes the California High School Exit Exam, graduates from high school with the required number of credits, attends and completes college, and obtains a job, he/she will be expected to execute their job duties with the same qualities that we are emphasizing here at King Middle School:
Being on time to class (to work)
  • Having perfect attendance
  • Working efficiently and competently on their work
  • Having accuracy and integrity in their work
  • Being able to work with others in groups
  • Showing respect for school staff (for supervisors and boss)
If we are able to instill these qualities in our students, we will support them in becoming productive citizens in society.  They will make us proud!

WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER TO PROVIDE THE BEST LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME

Respectfully,

Charlene Hirotsu
