SEPTEMBER 2006 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As we have completed two months of this school year, we will welcome back our Track A students and staff on Wednesday, August 30, while our Track B students and staff go on their off-track time.

Our students and staff have worked very hard to promote a strong learning environment for your child. Your child received a Student Planner (and a binder with dividers if they are in 6th grade) to help them remain organized in their classes as well as at home. Our administrative staff, as well as our coordinators, deans, and counselors have each adopted a homeroom to help our students with the use of their Student Planner and to remain focused academically throughout the entire school year. Please continue to support us in this effort by monitoring their daily activities.

Our students have been 100% in their school uniform which supports the same effort to promote a strong learning environment. Our students’ focus needs to remain on their own learning as they work towards their 55+ credits for culmination from middle school; passing of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) in the 10th grade in  high school; earning their High School Diploma after 12th grade; and entering a 2-year college or a 4-year university to obtain a college degree. This is our goal for our  students to find success.

Please support our efforts to maintain a campus, which focuses on our students’  learning and social growth. They are our children who need our guidance, parenting and support.

Each year our students take the California Standards Test (CST). Our targets for the 2005-2006 school year were: Math 26.5% proficient and English Language Arts 24.4%. Below is a summary of our school’s results.
