8th GRADE CEREMONIES AND ACTIVITIES

Students earn the privilege of participating in various activities throughout the school year by working hard academically.  For the each of the following events, 8th graders may not receive more than 1 Fail and not more than 3 U's in work habits and cooperation.  Of those 3 U's no more than 1 may be in cooperation.


Picnic                           Saturday, May 20, 2006

Qualifications: 
  • 1st semester 16-week grades including Intersession and Extended Learning Academy
  • 2nd semester 4-week grades
  • 2nd semester 4-week work habits and cooperation

Six Flags Magic Mountain Trip        Friday, June 9, 2006
Qualifications: 
  • 1st semester 16-week grades including Intersession and Extended Learning Academy
  • 2nd semester 8-week grades
  • 2nd semester 8-week work habits and cooperation

Culmination                    Friday, June 30, 2006
Qualifications: 
  • 1st semester 16-week grades including Intersession and Extended Learning Academy
  • 2nd semester 16-week grades
  • 2nd semester 16-week work habits and cooperation
  • A total of 50 credits need to be earned with no more than 2 Fails

Progress report cards are sent home at approximately 4-week intervals to give you a regular indication of your child's progress.  We encourage you to review these requirements with your child to ensure that he will have a successful and rewarding 8th grade school year.
