First, while most students are logging into Schoology, many are not necessarily completing their assignments. Please ensure that your child submits all their assignments, and reach out to the teacher if you might need exceptions, have concerns or questions.

Second, to brighten your child's day (or even yours), our King Student News Channel will present weekly broadcasts. Check out their first distance episode by clicking here

Third, we urge you to complete the 2020 US Census, as the count affects school funding and legislative representation, which directly impacts our students.

Finally, WE thank you for your continued support.  Have a good evening.

Phone Message sent home week of APRIL 13th, and posted on Schoology

Dear King families,

We appreciate all your support during these challenging times. While our campus will remain closed the remainder of the school year, we remind you that we are continuing instruction online. Please make sure your child monitors Schoology for assignments from all 6 of their classes. Our teachers and staff are working to ensure your child continues to be supported, and we are going to get through this together. Thank you.

Good afternoon, King families. Please make sure your children are checking their Schoology accounts for class expectations from all 6 of their teachers. Due to the partnership we’ve established through Verizon, each student was issued a brand new iPad with an increased data plan. We are exceptionally well-positioned to service our students’ needs even while we are not physically in session.  Again, please ensure that your children are monitoring their Schoology accounts and completing assignments. We will keep you updated as we get more information. We thank you for your support.

Good afternoon King families. This is an important message from Thomas Starr King Middle School. Superintendent Beutner announced yesterday that all LA Unified schools will remain closed until May 1st. There are a lot of moving pieces for a school of our size to adapt to these unchartered waters, and we thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support as we work through this together. Teams of teachers are currently collaborating to devise a meaningful weekly routine and learning plan with the best interests of our students and families in mind. These details will be communicated by teachers by the end of the week. In the meantime, please encourage your children to monitor their Schoology accounts for any lessons or assignments.

Between our talented teachers and staff and our unique iPad program, we are confident that King students will continue to develop their intellect, creativity, curiosity, and compassion. Thank you, again, for your patience, flexibility, and support, and we wish you strength and health during these unprecedented times.
