8th grade Math with Mr. Marquez

Welcome to 8th grade math.  I am very excited about the new school year.  I look forward to helping the 8th grade class of 2024 get ready for high school.  My main objective in the class is to get you prepared for Algebra. This year, I have the privilege of teaching the FAM Algebra class. It will be challenging but it's nothing you can't handle.

 

I know if we work together we will discover that we can have an amazing experience.  For those of you that feel math is not your favorite subject (maybe even the one you don't like at all), I'm here to tell you that you know more than you think you do and you can succeed.  For those of you that already consider math your favorite subject, I hope to further fan those flames of interest. 

 

Everyone will be challenged and there will be struggles but I will be there for you.  It is all part of the learning process.  LeBron James didn't become an amazing player without practice.  He also didn't win NBA championships without the help of his teammates.  Stan Lee didn't create Spider-Man the first time he drew a comic.  It was after years of work and also collaboration with other artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko that would give us characters like the X-men, the Hulk, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, and many others.  Remember that I am here to help you and if we pull all our knowledge together, we will accomplish amazing things.  I hope you enjoy the year.
