Digital Voice Awards 2015

Ms. Guthrie's classes worked on the unit 'Speak Truth to Power' and Ioannes Palomaria's powerful and evocative film 'A Modern Lynching' was selected by Los Angeles County Office of Education for the special Digital Voice of the Cultural Connections Award!

Ms. Hoefer's classes worked on the unit 'Exploring the Freedom to Read and Exposing the Dangers of Censorship' and the following projects have been recognized by the Los Angeles County Office of Education for the Digital Voice Awards as BEST OVERALL MIDDLE SCHOOL AWARD WINNERS! Here are the students and their projects that are being recognized:

Also, Animation students in Mr. Palayan's Advanced Animation Class, Chelsy Quirarte, Natalie Sebastian and Eden Markos are also being recognized for their cartoons by the Los Angeles County Office of Education for the Digital Voice Awards in the category of secondary student, Technical Arts work in Computer Animation for their cartoons, The Portal and Dragon's Rage. This is the the 9th year in a row that animation students have been recognized for their 3D Animation work.

King Middle School is being recognized as BEST OVERALL MIDDLE SCHOOL Digital Voice Awards for the 2nd year in a row. Last year Mr. Palayan's Animation class won and this year Ms. Hoefer's classes captured the win! Ms. Guthrie's class won the Cultural Connections Award for King's First time. This is very impressive as King is competing not with just all of the schools in the LAUSD, but the whole county of Los Angeles!!!
